Your laptop dies on Tuesday morning. You're working again Tuesday afternoon.
When a machine fails, is stolen or goes in for repair, I build a managed replacement the same day, bring it to you and take the broken one away. Your member of staff signs in with their normal work account and carries on — same files, same apps, same security. No scrambling, and nobody quietly working off a personal laptop.
One broken laptop, and the workarounds start.
In a business of five people, losing one machine is losing a fifth of your capacity — and the ways people cope in the meantime tend to undo the security you have spent money getting right.
A dead laptop costs days, not hours
Ordering a machine takes a week. Setting it up takes another day. Meanwhile someone in a five-person business is doing nothing — and that is a big slice of your capacity gone.
People fall back to personal devices
Faced with a dead laptop, staff carry on from the family PC. Company data lands on a machine with no encryption, no patching and no way to wipe it — exactly the thing your security is meant to prevent.
The spare in the cupboard is not a spare
The old laptop on the shelf has not been switched on since last year. It wants two hours of updates, it is not enrolled, and it comes back into your business completely unmanaged.
One phone call, and it is handled.
No forms, no shipping labels, no rebuilding a machine from scratch while someone watches the clock.
You call, I build
Tell me a machine is down. There is already a laptop on my shelf, patched and ready — I get it out the door the same day wherever I can.
I deliver and collect
I bring the loaner to you and take the broken machine away for repair in the same visit. Nobody has to post anything or wait in for a courier.
They sign in and carry on
Your member of staff signs in with their normal work account. Policies, apps and files follow them automatically — because everything already lives in Microsoft 365.
We swap back and wipe
When your own laptop is fixed I return it, collect the loaner and wipe it clean. Your data leaves with you — it never sits waiting for the next borrower.
Anyone can lend you a laptop. The difference is what is on it.
A borrowed machine that is not managed is a security problem wearing a helpful disguise. Because I already run your Microsoft 365, the loaner arrives as a proper corporate device on day one.
A managed device, not a blank one
The loaner joins your Microsoft 365 tenant properly — encrypted, enrolled and under the same rules as every other machine you own.
Their files are already there
Documents and Desktop sync from OneDrive, so work appears in minutes rather than after an overnight download of everything they own.
No drop in security
Same MFA, same conditional access, same device compliance. Nothing gets waived because someone is on a temporary machine.
Your certification stays intact
A Cyber Essentials assessment asks what staff work on. "A managed loaner" is a good answer. "Their partner's laptop" is not.
Kept ready every month
Every laptop in the pool is booted, patched and re-baselined monthly, then reset ready to go. That is what makes same-day realistic.
Delivered and collected by me
Not a shipping label and a wait. I bring it, set it going in front of your team, and take the broken one away with me.
It works because your data is not on the laptop.
Same-day only means something if a new machine can pick up exactly where the old one left off. That is a question of how your Microsoft 365 is set up, not how fast I can drive. If yours is not there yet, sorting it is part of getting you on cover — and it is worth doing regardless.

Common questions
What sort of laptop will I get?+
Business-class and perfectly capable — typically a Dell Latitude, HP EliteBook or Lenovo ThinkPad with an i5, 16GB of memory and an SSD. Like a courtesy car, it may not match the spec of your own machine, but it will run Microsoft 365, Teams and your line-of-business apps without complaint. The point is that your team keeps working, securely, on a device I control.
How fast is "same day", honestly?+
If you report it before 11am on a working day, I aim to have a loaner with you that afternoon, and across Lancashire that is usually what happens. The guarantee I am willing to put in writing is the next working day — I am a one-person business, and I would rather promise something I can always keep than something that falls over the first time I am on holiday or two clients need a machine in the same week.
What if my data was only on the broken laptop?+
Then a courtesy laptop does not help you, and neither does anything else. That is why this only works alongside OneDrive Known Folder Move — with it switched on, Desktop and Documents live in Microsoft 365 and follow the user to any machine they sign into. If yours is not set up that way yet, fixing it is part of getting you on cover.
What happens to my data on the loaner afterwards?+
The device is wiped remotely through Intune and removed from your tenant the moment it comes back to me, before it goes anywhere near another client. Because everything the user touched was syncing to your Microsoft 365 all along, nothing is lost in the process either.
What if two of our laptops fail at once?+
Cover is one loaner per business at a time. The pool is deliberately small and shared, and a second concurrent loan for one client would leave the next client with nothing. If you genuinely need two, tell me and I will do what I can — but I will not sell you a promise I cannot keep.
Does it cover lost and stolen laptops too?+
Yes, and that is often the call that matters most. Same service: I get a managed replacement to you while the insurance and the replacement order get sorted out. The same pool also covers the gap when a new starter arrives before their machine does.
What if the loaner gets damaged?+
Fair wear and tear is on me — that is what a loan fleet is for. Loss, theft or damage beyond that is chargeable, exactly as it would be with a hire car. It is all written down before you go on cover so there are no surprises.
Do I have to be on a support plan?+
Yes. The service depends on me already managing your Microsoft 365 tenant and your devices — that is what makes a same-day swap possible rather than a two-day rebuild. Courtesy Laptop Cover is included as standard on my Premium Managed plan, and can be added to the other plans for a small monthly fee.
Stop treating a broken laptop as a crisis.
A small monthly fee, and the next time a machine dies it is a phone call and an afternoon — not a week of workarounds on somebody's home PC.

Tell me how many machines you run and I will come back within one working day with a straight answer on cover — and on whether your Microsoft 365 is set up so a swap would actually work today.
